Using SQLServer2005 linked servers and Sybase

The Sybase database is synchronized with the SQL Server 2005 database, precisely by using SQL Server 2005 to read and write to the Sybase database tables.

The data interfaces of other systems are sometimes required in the project, and the data in the interface is stored in the Sybase database, at which point a linked server in SQL Server 2005 can be used to connect to the Sybase database. Here is a configuration step:

1. Install Sybase driver on the SQL Server 2005 server, install the interface as shown:

2. After the next step, to choose the installation mode, we choose the custom installation, in the installation option must tick the ASE Data Providers, this is the drive we need, the other optional, in order to facilitate testing and management, other check also has no relationship.

3. After the installation is complete, the following menu will appear in the Start menu:

4. Click Configuation Manager under OLE DB provider, as shown in the following illustration:

5. On the data Sources Right-click, select New Data Source, in the pop-up dialog box, enter DataSourceName, such as Sybasetest.
