(1) Open the ODBC Data Source Manager in Control Panel, select the "MS Access Database" option in "User DSN" (that is, "user data Source") to remove or configure an existing user data, where we will add a data source.
(2) Click the Add button, the system will be ready to add a user data source under the MS Access database, in order to install the data source, pop-up create a new data source window, the following figure:
(3) In the Create a new Data Source window, select Microsoft Access Driver to install the data source.
(4) Click the "Finish" button to enter the ODBC Microsoft Access installation window, as shown in the following figure:
▲ Type the name of the data source in the data source name entry, where we type "access_db" as the data source name.
▲ Type a description of the data source in the description item, where the content is optional, and here we type "This is Access database temp".
▲ You can select, create, repair, or compress databases in the database item. Here we select the "Select" button to select the appropriate Access database. If the user does not have an Access database of their own, the user can select the database from which access is available under the directory where access is installed. Note: The extension of the Access database file is. mdb.
▲ Finally, click the OK button. A new Access data source has been added to this point, as shown in the following figure:
Note: If the user wants to create a data source name that is used by more than one user in the computer, ask the user to add a System DSN. In practice, the development of a single user's system does not make any sense, so it is generally necessary to configure the System DSN. The System DSN addition process is similar to the User DSN add process.
