Cos function

Returns the cosine of a corner.

Cos(number)

The number argument can be any valid numeric expression that represents a corner as radians.

Description

The Cos function takes a corner and returns the ratio on both sides of the right-angled triangle. This ratio is the ratio of the length of the adjacent side of the triangle to the length of the hypotenuse. The results range from 1 to 1.

The angle is converted to radians by multiplying the angle by the pi/180. Conversely, the way radians are converted to angles is multiplied by 180/pi in radians.

The following example uses the Cos function to return the cosine of a corner:

Dim MyAngle, MySecantMyAngle = 1.3                Defines an angle in radians. Cos(MyAngle) ' calculate secant.
