Sonic Vegas 5.0 is a professional video and voice editing software. Clips of the film, special effects additions, material synthesis, final rendering can be coherent. Combined with a simple interface and a number of highly efficient and excellent features, users can quickly edit the rich image, can be compared with premiere and after effects comparable. Both professionals and individual users can be easily used for their simple interface. About Sonic Vegas 5.0 new features There are many, due to the length of space, to introduce it is not easy, how can we make people faster and better grasp it?
We thought and thought, and finally decided to take an MTV production process as a wire, to introduce Sonic Vegas 5.0 of the use of methods and techniques, because by making an MTV can systematically explain the editing, special effects, subtitles, synthesis and final rendering and other aspects of the content.
In the production of MTV before the first to determine the song, which is no doubt, after the song to determine the content of the song, rhythm, style to write the script, in the script according to the process of the song to describe the different stages of the picture content, that is, the narrative of the shooting. In the script after the completion of the collection of material, the main material has two parts, one is audio material, is that we want the song, the other is video footage, can be dynamic video, can also be a static picture. After understanding some of the basic process, we started to make it!
1. Start Sonic Vegas 5.0, click the New button to create a new item. Then make some settings for the current project, execute the file → Properties command, and open the Scenario Properties dialog box, as shown in Figure 1. Enter the video tab, setting parameters such as frame rate, screen size, rendering quality, and so on.

If we want to play our work on TV, we choose the "PAL standard" format. Then go to the Ruler tab, where you set the ruler units above the timeline. We set the ruler time format to SMPTE EBU (fps, video), which corresponds to the PAL format of 25 frames per second, which is very useful for precise editing of positioning. The settings on the other tabs remain the default, but you can also set them up as needed.
2. We need to get the song after some basic settings have been completed. Songs that are audio footage can be downloaded from the web and can be crawled directly from the CD using Sonic Vegas 5.0, which describes how to crawl a song from a CD.
At the bottom of the software interface, click the Media Library button, and at the top of the tab, click the Grab audio from CD button to open the Ectract Audio from CD dialog box, as shown in Figure 2. Select the CD's optical drive in drive, and the song on the CD will be displayed in the "Tracks to" list, select the song we need click the "OK" button to save it.

3. The audio material is ready, and the video footage is prepared below. The video footage can be a dynamic video, or it can be a still picture. Here we mainly talk about the method of acquiring dynamic material. One way is to directly copy someone else's recorded video, such as from VCD or DVD disc to obtain, method two is to use DV photography, and then through the IEEE1394 card to the DV tape on the video collected to the computer hard disk.
Here's how to use Sonic Vegas 5.0 to collect DV. Click the Video Capture button on the Media Library's toolbar to open the Sony Video Capture 5.0 window, which is the visual capture interface, as shown in Figure 3.

To capture the parameter settings before capturing, perform the option → parameter selection command in the Sony Video Capture 5.0 window to open the Parameter selection dialog box, as shown in Figure 4. The parameters in the general, advanced collection, back to tape, and preview tabs are usually set by default. You need to mention the Disk Management and Acquisition tabs.

The save path for capturing video is primarily set up in the Disk Management tab. You can usually set up a capture directory with several different disk characters in order. If there is not enough space for a saved directory, it will be in red, the yellow represents the space barely enough, green means that the space is basically enough.
5. Enter the Acquisition tab, as shown in Figure 5. The default setting for its first option is "Allow DV automatic detection scene", which allows Sonic Vegas 5.0 to automatically save each scene as a separate DV AVI file when capturing. If we shoot fewer scenes, this feature will bring convenience to later interception editors. On the contrary, if the shooting scene is more, when the collection is completed will produce dozens of fragments, fragments of too much confusion. At this point the option to cancel the check can be collected a complete AVI fragment.

6. The next need for the acquisition card image size settings. Pressing the video menu displays all available video capture devices. For example, select the IEEE 1394 card driver properties, and then set the appropriate video size in the video settings. This is important, otherwise the captured image is small or has a low resolution.
After the above settings are complete, you can press the "Capture Tape" button for dynamic material capture.
