1. simple modification method

In fact, no matter 98 or 2000, we have already provided the function of changing the NIC address, but we do not think about it at ordinary times, so we didn't notice it. It's very simple .....

Now let's take a look at Win2000. Right-click the "Network neighbors" icon on the desktop and select "properties". In the displayed "network and dial-up connections" window, there are usually two icons: "New Connection, one is the "my connections" icon. Of course, if your machine has two NICs, there will be three icons. Now, if you only have one Nic, right-click the "my connections" icon and select "properties". A "My Connection Properties" window is displayed. There is a "configuration" button under the window. Click this button to enter the NIC Properties dialog box. This dialog box contains five properties pages. Click the second "advanced" page, there are two or more items under the "attribute" identifier. Now you should be able to see an attribute item named "network address". Click this item, there are two single options under the "value" icon on the right of the dialog box. The default value is "nonexistent". Now you only need to select the preceding single option, then, enter the MAC address of the network card you want to change in the box on the right (note that you need to enter the network card continuously without "-"), for example, "00e0404000a0", click "OK", OK! You are done!

Modifications under 98 are similar to those under win2000. Right-click the "Network Neighbor" icon and select "properties". A "network" dialog box is displayed. In the "configuration" box, double-click the network card you want to modify and a NIC attribute dialog box is displayed. In the "advanced" option, click "network address" under the "attribute" identifier, and select the preceding one from the two single options on the right, enter the MAC address of the network adapter you want to modify in the box. Click "OK" and the system will prompt you to restart. I don't need to talk about it anymore! :) (After restarting, you can use "winipcfg" to check the modification results)

If you want to restore the MAC address of the network card to its original state, you only need to select "not displayed" on the right of the "Network Address" item and restart it. In Win2000, select "non-existent". Of course, you do not need to restart it.

Ii. How to modify the Registry

Due to the relationship between the driver and the network card, some machines do not have the "Network Address" option, so we only need to modify the registry.

◆ Modify Windows2000

1. Search for driverdesc under the primary key of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ class \ {4d36e972-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} \ 0000, 0001, 0002, And. The description of the NIC to be modified, for example, "RealTek rtl8029 (AS)-based PCI Ethernet Adapter ".

2. Add a string named networkaddress under it. The value is set to the MAC address you want (note that the address is still written consecutively ). For example, 00e0dde0e0e0.

3. Add a primary key named networkaddress to NDI \ Params and add a string named default under the primary key. The value of this string is the MAC address you want to set and must be written continuously, for example, 000000000000. (In fact, this is only the "Initial Value" in the advanced attribute mentioned later. The actual MAC address used depends on the networkaddress parameter mentioned in. Once this parameter is set, in the future, the value in the advanced attribute is the value given by networkaddress rather than the value given by default .)

4. Add a string named paramdesc under the primary key of networkaddress. The function is to specify the description of the primary key of networkaddress. The value can be named by yourself, for example, "network address ", in this way, the network address option will appear in the Advanced properties of the network adapter, that is, the new networkaddress you just added in the registry. You only need to modify the MAC address here. Add a string named optional with the value set to "1". When you select the network address option in the Advanced properties of the network adapter, the "no" option will appear on the right.

5. Restart your computer, open the network neighbor attributes, and double-click the corresponding Nic item to find an advanced network address setting item, it can be used to directly modify the MAC address or restore the original address.

◆ Modify Win9x

1. Find the driverdesc string under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ class \ net \ 0000, 0001, and 0002.

2. Add a string named networkaddress under it. The value is set to the MAC address you want. Note that you must write it continuously. For example, 00e0dde0e0e0.

3. Add a primary key named networkaddress to NDI \ Params and add a string named default under the primary key. The value of this string is the MAC address you want to set, note that continuous writing is required, for example, 00e0dde0e0e0.

4. Add a string named paramdesc to specify the description of the nettworkaddress primary key. The value can be named by yourself, for example, "network address". In this way, the attributes of the network neighbor will be opened later, in this way, the network address option will appear in the Advanced properties of the network adapter, that is, the new networkaddress you just added in the registry. You only need to modify the MAC address here.

Add a string named optional with the value set to "1". When you select the network address option in the Advanced properties of the network adapter, the "no display" option will appear on the right.

◆ How to change the NIC address in winnt:

1. Open the registry and locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-> system-> CurrentControlSet-> services

2. Find the NIC key value and add the string value networkaddress to the parameters item. The value is set to the MAC address to be modified, for example, "00e0dde0e0e0 ".
