Since it was a person and it was the first time to deploy esxi, there were a lot of detours to make it a success, so I wrote this article to allow other new users to provide reference, but also to record their own growth.

First, popularize the virtualization basics for new users:

Workstation: Standalone level, used in a personal desktop system, must be supported by the operating system (above the system)

Servier: Working group level, used for servers, which must be supported by the operating system (above the system)

Esxi: enterprise level, used for servers and does not require Operating System Support (an OS is built on bare metal)

To install virtualization, the CPU must support Virtualization: CAT/proc/cpuinfo and find the flags part. If vmx or SVM is output, virtualization technology is supported.

I am using an esxi image on the official website. VMWare esxi is a free software released by VMware. I download the image file directly from the official website and burn it into a CD or make it a boot disk. The software trial period is 60 days. If you register on the official website, you can have a serial number, and the software can be permanently used for free,

After downloading the image, you need to burn it to a CD or a USB flash disk. Here I use the Rufus tool. In short, there are many tutorials on how to burn U or a CD. You can download them on your own. (PS: the format of the boot item of the USB flash drive is incorrect. Otherwise, it will be as miserable as me. You can only redo the USB flash drive)

Check the USB flash disk to the server, restart the boot item, and install the USB flash disk. As for the esxi installation, it is easier to follow the steps on the Internet.

After the installation is complete, you need to use the management tools. We recommend that you use vclient (with a single function, you can log on to the server to create virtual machines) and vcenter (with diverse functions and batch operations, I will not repeat the details here)

The procedure for creating a virtual machine using vclient is described in detail (the virtual machine cannot be created if it is not operated properly ):
