VMware simulates Juniper idp1. install IDP
The IDP operating system is Linux, and the OS is an image file. Users with Juniper permission can download it.
The version I use here is the idp-4.0r3-RC1-sensor.iso
Installing Windows XP is easier than installing Windows XP.
Virtual Hardware configuration
Memory 1 GB
Hard Disk 8 GB (larger size can be set)
After installation, enter the logon page.
Unnamed .jpg(16.91 KB)
Default username and password root/ABC123
Note that the actual IDP configuration uses ACM (Web management)
Then we will use https: // The default user name and password for the interface address.

Perform basic configuration in it (note that the comrades who have never played IDP have worked hard to find their own way. I am not writing the IDP Configuration Guide here)
ACM only supports basic network settings and port modes for IDP
The real configuration tool is NSM (a unified management platform for Juniper security devices), which needs to be installed in the Red Hat Enterprise Edition.
I installed Enterprise Edition 4 on my machine, NSM version: nsm2007.1r3 _ servers_linux_x86
After installing all the above, virtual IDP can be used.
Specify the NSM server address under ACM on a real machine, and the NSM can be automatically identified by adding devices to the NSM.
However, if it is an IDP simulated by Vmware, NSM will not be able to recognize its hardware platform. Therefore, you need to modify a file in the IDP Linux system to cheat NSM detection.
Modify the file/usr/IDP/device/CFG/IDP. cfg to define several parameters to copy content to the clipboard code: Bee. firewallid NS-IDP-50
Global. Bee. DeviceID dd93a359847b1108d6a8af448b2fa5a42434567d12
Global. machinetype NS-IDP-50
IDP. serialnumber 123456789
Then you can connect to NSM to manage IDP through nsm ui.
Note: In idp acm, configure the NSM management server address and add a new device to NSM.
First, log on to NSM.
