Instant cloning is to replicate the machine's memory and system data to the new VM (personal feeling is to create a master snapshot with memory, use this snapshot as a template for the new VM, and then modify the information in the template according to the system requirements, in order to achieve the process of rapid production of VMS, the above operations are completed in memory, so that the new VMS are generated And the read information is from the parent VM, the write information is written to the created VM), the other replication process is similar to linked clone, the user login VM is created, the user logs off the VM will be deleted. If user data needs to be saved, use other functions to save the data
Advantages of Instant Clone
1) takes less time than linked clone
2) can avoid starting the storm (the VM created by Instant Clone is a VM that has been started, but it can be stressful for storage, such as multiple people writing files to delta hard disk simultaneously)
3) do not need to recompose the cloned VM (e.g. install patches, etc.) and refresh
4) Reduce VC pressure
Limit
Supports only Win7 and WIN10, supports only floating desktop pools, supports up to 2000 desktops, supports only a single VC and a single VLAN, supports only Vsan or VMFS
No support for RDSH, no support for VGPU or VDGA, partial support for VSGA, NFS not supported
