VMware EXSi5.5 adding virtual shared disks

Implement a virtual hard disk, simultaneously mounted on two virtual machines, all files are visible, note that both sides can not modify the same file at the same time.

　　Operation Steps

1, create the first virtual machine A, the disk provisioning "thick provisioning 0" when adding hard disk (the storage space will be allocated according to the size of the provision, and formatted, add a little time).

2, add a second hard disk, the virtual device contact is selected under another SCSI controller (sharing settings on the controller, to protect the system installation disk, select another SCSI controller).

Disk provisioning "thick provisioning 0" when adding a hard disk, the mode selected "independent", "persistent" (in order to protect the hard disk partition table, data and other modifications saved, the other machine can see the changes directly).

Set the newly added SCSI controller to allow SCSI bus sharing, select "virtual" or "physical".

3, create a second virtual machine B, the disk provisioning "thick provisioning 0" when adding a hard disk.

4. When adding a second hard drive, select the existing virtual hard disk, point to virtual machine A's hard disk 2 file, and the virtual device contact is selected under another SCSI controller.

5, virtual machine A and virtual machine B are turned on separately, if set up correctly, both virtual machines can boot. Partition the hard disk in one of the virtual machines, create PV, VG, LV, format, mount (or you can not use LVM, direct partition Mount). In another virtual machine, you can see the created LV that can be mounted directly and see the files on the disk.
