Yesterday using VMware, due to high notebook temperature, the system automatically power off, resulting in abnormal shutdown of the physical machine. It was then found that VMware was unable to start the virtual machine, prompting for ' This VM appears to is in use '. The workaround is to remove the. lck directory from all virtual machine directories and then restart the virtual machine: There is a. lck disk lock file in the Lck directory, the. lck file is deleted when the virtual machine is shut down normally, but after an abnormally shutdown, the disk lock file still exists, so VMware will assume that the virtual system is still being used by the primary system.
