Vmwarevm hard disk adjustment + NTFS partition merge
1. Modify the hard disk size of vmwarevm
There is a command line tool under the vmware6.0installation directory --vmware-vdiskmanager.exeProgramCan be used to modify the disk size of a virtual machine.
The method is as follows:
1. Power off the VM.
2. Start the command prompt interface CMD in windows;
3. Run the CD command to enter the installation directory of VMware: D:/vmware workstation>
4. Enter "vmware-vdiskmanager" after D:/vmware workstation> and press the Enter key to display instructions on the command.
5. Run the following command: vmware-vdiskmanager-x 20 GB "F:/rhlinux/Red Hat Linux. vmdk"
Parameter-X indicates that the disk space of the virtual machine is extended;
The following number indicates the size to be expanded (for example, 20 GB, indicating the total number of disks, including the original disk capacity );
Finally, the specific file of the Virtual Machine Linux to be operated.
Note: If the path name contains spaces, you must enclose the entire path name in double quotation marks.
After the command is executed, exit the Command Prompt window and restart VMware. At this time, the hard disk space of the VM has changed to 20 GB.
Note: If the original Virtual Machine hard disk has been divided into multiple partitions, then after expanding the hard disk space through the vmware-vdiskmanager.exe, you need to install a third-party partition tool in the virtual machine system to adjust the partition.
6. For example, to expand the disk space of VMware to 20 GB, Enter cmd and run the following command:
D:/vmware workstation> vmware-vdiskmanager-x 20 GB "I:/Windows Server 2003/Windows Server 2003. vmdk"
Ii. merge or adjust NTFS hard disks under Windows2003 Server
For NTFS partition adjustment in Windows or partition adjustment in Vista, partition Magic 8 and server magic are powerless.
Especially merge or adjust the system primary partition.
We recommend that you use the acronis disk ctor partition tool.
The current version is acronis disk ctor suite 10.0. Pai_^
