Install WIN8 machine after performing the system update, a yellow exclamation mark appears in the Device Manager's WAN Miniport (Network Monitor), which affects normal network functionality, as shown in the following illustration:

Once this occurs, you can temporarily delete this item in the following ways.

1 Press the Windows key and R key at the same time, enter regedit, click OK to open Registry Editor. (Warning: Improper use of Registry Editor can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system.) It is recommended to back up the registry in advance, before the operation of the computer to back up the important data, so as to avoid accidents in the process can not enter the system impact computer data

2 Locate the following registry subkey:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCURRENTCONTROLSETCONTROLCLASS{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

There will be a number of four-digit subkeys as shown below

3 find each subkey one by one and locate the subkey on the right "DriverDesc" value data as "WAN Miniport (Network Monitor)". Note that there may be multiple. (Note must be careful and accurate search, if the normal project changes, may affect the normal network connection use)

4 modifies the "characteristics" value data in each found subkey from 29 to 9. Record the modified four-bit number project name. Restore the settings after the pending operation completes.

5 Open Device Manager again and right-click the WAN Miniport project to select Uninstall.

6 returns the registry and restores the previously modified item to 29. completes the operation.
