1. Cell profile (unit profiles):
A unit profile contains a Deployment Manager profile and an application server node profile. You can add some other application server nodes to the Deployment Manager profile after you create the unit profile. The Unit profile template is the new profile type in V6.1.
2. Deployment Manager profile (Deployment Manager Profiles): The Deployment Manager provides a separate management interface for a logical set of application servers on one or more machines. Administrative security is already available when the Deployment Manager is created.
3. Application Server profile (Application Server profiles):
An application server profile has a default server named Server1. The application server can be created with a default application that contains the Snoop servlet and Hitcount servlet, or it can be created with the sample program. You can either set up an application server or use it as a stand-alone application server.
4. Custom profile (customized profiles):
One custom profile is an empty node. You can add application servers, clusters, or other Java processes to a node, such as a communications Server. You must add a custom profile to a unit to operate on it.
