In an interview with caogen, someone asked the layout of keywords on the entire website. I have also written a post about the optimization of multiple keywords. I will add a few more questions today.
To put it simply, multiple keywords need to be properly laid out on the website. The most difficult part is on the home page, the moderate difficulty is on the column page, and the long tail is onArticlePage or product page.
Pay attention to the following points.
1. Make sure to study keywords first.
There is no reasonable keyword layout if you do not know what keywords are being searched. I have seen too many corporate websites. The target keywords of the homepage are the words that the website designers take for granted or the company name. They are all words that no one will search.
In-depth keyword research not only avoids major mistakes in key keyword selection, but also facilitates the arrangement of all keywords on different channel pages. The most important keywords are the 2-3 most frequently searched keywords. Which of the following are the most frequently searched keywords? What are the differences between these words? Should independent channels be arranged? Which words can be merged in a channel? How many medium-level keywords need to be arranged? Can the overall website architecture meet these keywords? Are there too few keywords to fill the website architecture? And so on.
These questions must be thoroughly studied by keywords before they can be answered.
2. properly evaluate the keywords on the homepage.
During website creation, most people will think that the most difficult word in the industry has the best effect, and the search frequency is high, resulting in a high traffic volume. For example, in the SEO industry, the goal is to optimize Seo or search engines.
For some enterprise websites, this is also a last resort, because enterprise product names have long been fixed and cannot be changed before the emergence of the Internet.
However, there are some information, portal, social media, and personal websites. The theme and keywords you pay attention to can be big or small, depending on how you decide.
After the keywords on the homepage are determined, the keywords on the channel page are determined accordingly. Should the keywords on the home page be targeted at Seo? Or Beijing Seo? Or Beijing Xicheng district Seo? There are at least three factors to consider:
1) number of searches.
2) the strength of competitors (existing websites listed above.
3) The time, money, and manpower you are willing to spend.
In many cases, it is not necessary to set the goal to the most difficult keywords, especially for new websites. The difficulty is too high. If the goal has not been reached in two or three years, I am afraid the Webmaster will not be able to hold on.
The third point should be noted that there should be no more than 2-3 target keywords on each page. Many webmasters like to put a lot of keywords on the home page. They think that the homepage has a high weight and the keywords are placed on the home page, so they have a higher chance of ranking.
If there are not many primary and secondary keywords you can find, and there are four or five keywords in total, this is acceptable. However, if there are more than 10 or 20 key words that are most important and important, do not squeeze them all on the homepage.
The number of target keywords on each page is limited to 2-3. Otherwise, conflicts may occur in page content writing, internal link arrangement, and external link anchor text. The final result is that a page can only Rank 2-3 words.
It is better to plan ahead and distribute words of different importance to different pages. This is especially important for new websites.
Fourth, about long tail keywords.
People are familiar with the long tail theory. Sometimes I think it is too long to emphasize the long tail in Seo. For SEO practitioners, the most important thing is to have a long tail consciousness. In terms of website structure arrangement, internal links, and Article Page writing, it is enough to think of a long tail concept.
Websites that can take full advantage of Long Tail must have at least 100,000 million pages. The long tail effect of such websites is naturally obtained, and it is impossible to conduct a comprehensive long tail keyword research. On a large number of article pages or product pages, it is enough to write naturally and highlight a very single topic without deliberate keyword research.
Fifth, prevent multiple pages from competing for the same keyword.
This is also one of the problems that many websites are prone to. The website has multiple page targets with the same keywords. Some webmasters believe that both the home page and several topic pages strengthen the optimization of the same group of keywords, so as to gain a higher chance of ranking. Otherwise, we should try to avoid this situation.
Only one page can compete for a keyword on the same website. In this way, both the internal link arrangement, the construction of external links, and the writing of texts can be precise and will not be distracting.
The most extreme symptom of this problem is actually the copy content that everyone is familiar.
