Since its birth, Tesla has no exposure. Apart from the biggest highlight of electric power, the cool and stylish style is also a major selling point. Moreover, Tesla is constantly enriching its car creation philosophy, such as actively deploying the self-driving field, there is also the improvement of product control and playability-for example, Tesla recently released the four-wheel drive version of the Model S sports car to capture more car enthusiasts through the four-wheel drive.
The difference from the media is that the capital market uses its foot to vote. It is reported that Tesla's shares have fallen by more than September since the high point in early 24%, it can be said that it has completely entered the channel of decline, so why does the capital market treat Tesla like this? Does Tesla really have serious problems?
In my opinion, although Tesla is a rare innovator in the automotive industry, it faces many "obstacles", especially in China. Here, we would like to share some with you.
1. Imperfect charging station facilities
It is unclear about the situation outside China. In China, the charging station facilities are quite imperfect. If the charging network is not large enough, Tesla will be difficult to popularize in China. To solve this problem, Tesla will give customers a charging pile when selling the product, as long as the customer has a parking space, it can charge. One electric charge can run 500 kilometers, and more than enough traffic in the urban area, but it is difficult to handle long-distance driving. If there is no charging pile in the long-distance service area, it will be very troublesome.
On this issue, Tesla also actively cooperates with property developers, telecom operators, and banks to accelerate the construction of charging piles. It has reported that Minsheng Bank and Tesla will carry out strategic cooperation, the two will build at least 400 destination charging stations in Minsheng Bank's own business halls and residential financial stores in 20 cities nationwide, which is undoubtedly good news for the vast majority of Tesla fans.
2. The charging time is too long
The second obstacle is that the charging time is too long. According to media reports, the Tesla Model S has five charging methods, namely, charging the ordinary 110 V/V electrical outlet, which is full for 30 hours; integrated 10 kW charger, 10 hours full; integrated 20 kW charger, 5 hours full; fast charger installed on home walls or parking lots for charging, 5 hours full; there is also an ultra-fast charging device that can charge 80% of the power in 45 minutes, but only available in North America.
Even 45 minutes can charge 80% of the power, this time is enough. If the charging time is too long, it means Tesla is unlikely to be the first vehicle in the family, but it may be the second or third, because for those who are busy and traveling for a long time, such an inefficient Charging mode will obviously delay a lot of time.
3. The price and maintenance are not cheap.
Previously, Tesla announced that the retail price of Model S 85kwh models in China is 0.734 million yuan, and the retail price of P 85kwh performance models is 0.8525 million yuan. Obviously, the price is not what ordinary people can afford, and the State does not provide subsidies for new energy. Therefore, even if it can save a certain amount of money, the purchase threshold is too high, it will inevitably block the vast majority of people out of the door. Another point is that if something goes wrong, Tesla's maintenance costs will not be very cheap.
Another point is that in this price range, consumers often have many better options, such as BBA Class C cars and D-class cars. The price is not much different from that of B-class cars, and there is a face to face when driving them, commercial users can all meet the requirements. Therefore, for example, if you are not a local tyrant of special interest to Tesla, you will certainly carefully consider whether to choose Tesla.
4. Lack of supporting services
As we all know, the 4S/5S model successfully resolved the problems that may exist in all aspects of the automotive industry, the so-called 4 s, it is a "four-in-one" car franchise model, includes sale, sparepart, after-sales service, and survey ). For Tesla, if he wants to gain a foothold in any country around the world, he must establish such a supporting service system.
Of course, the establishment of a supporting service system will not be achieved overnight, which takes a long period of time and consumes a large amount of money. Therefore, for Tesla, it is not very reliable to take a bid, it is more practical than a base area. In China, Tesla has established 4s stores in cities such as Beijing, which can be expanded to second-tier cities based on sales conditions in the future.
5. HYBRID VEHICLES
Why does it mean that a hybrid car is a obstacle for Tesla? The hybrid operation refers to the combination of fuel (gasoline, diesel, etc.) and electric energy to save energy. Because it does not need to be charged, it only needs to be refueled, so it will not face the first two problems. At the same time, for a hybrid vehicle, when the vehicle starts and stops, it is driven only by a motor and does not reach a certain speed, so the engine does not work. In this way, the engine can be kept in the optimal working condition, achieve the goal of saving energy and reducing emissions.
It can be said that hybrid cars have more promising prospects than pure electric vehicles like Tesla, because they have a wider range of adaptability, both short distance and long distance, and their use costs may not necessarily be higher than tetes. More importantly, many of the world's top automakers are actively developing and promoting hybrid products, including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Toyota. Because these automakers already have comprehensive ancillary services and rich product lines, their hybrid products are not necessarily higher in terms of price, usage cost, and maintenance cost.
6. Automobile Performance
The three main parts of a car are the engine, gearbox, and chassis. These three parts jointly determine the performance of the car. After years of R & D and innovation, the enterprises mentioned above have achieved fruitful results in related fields. It is undoubtedly difficult for Tesla to catch up with these established automakers in the overall performance of cars.
The solution is that Tesla can cooperate with a wide range of outstanding vehicle companies, such as using its own technology in the electric vehicle field and cooperating with other vehicle companies to create a variety of products. In this way, Tesla may share the Chassis Technology and gearbox Technology of other vehicle companies, which not only reduces product R & D costs, but also effectively controls parts and maintenance costs, it is a good thing for consumers.
Of course, Tesla may face a lot of obstacles. In view of the length, we will not list them here. Although Tesla has made some brilliant achievements, it is still far from the real success. (Text/Wang yijian QQ: 543415188)
