Multiple versions of OS X system setup that were downloaded from the Mac app Store before February 14, 2016 have not worked properly because certificate expiration prevented it from being validated. Specifically, for example, if you install an expired OS X installer on an external drive (such as a USB boot disk), a failure occurs when the system is installed. It is reported that the affected installer version includes OS X El Capitan and OS X Mavericks, and even OS X mountain Lion.
The installer for OS X El Capitan system can be resolved by downloading a new version from the Mac App Store, but for older systems such as OS X Mavericks and OS X Mountain Lion, it's hard to get from the Mac App Store Take the new version of the installer. To this end, there are foreign users to provide a solution:
1. In OS X Installer, select tool-Terminal
2. Enter Date 0201010116 and press ENTER
3. Exit terminal and Continue installation
The terminal command sets the system date to February 1, 2016, before the certificate expires, so the installer can continue to use it. After the installation is complete, you can reset the system date to the system preferences.
