Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is mainly used for interconnection between autonomous systems (AS) on the Internet. The main function of BGP is to control route propagation and select the best route. BGP is an enhanced, comprehensive, and scalable protocol developed by the Internet Engineering Task Group. A bgp data center is a data center that uses BGP solutions to achieve dual-line or multi-line interconnection.
China Netcom, China Telecom, China tietong, and some large private IDC operators all have as numbers. Most of the major network operators in China use BGP protocol to achieve multi-line interconnection with their own as numbers. To use this solution to achieve multi-line interconnection, IDC needs to apply for its own IP address segment and as number in CNNIC (China Internet Information Center) or APNIC (Asia Pacific Network Information Center) (Note: currently, 21 vianet in China is a member of both APNIC and CNNIC. Then, the IP address segment is broadcast to the networks of other network operators through the BGP protocol. After the BGP protocol is used for interconnection, all the Backbone Routing devices of the network operator determine the optimal route to the IP segment of the IDC to ensure high-speed access for users of different network operators.
