What is AHCI?
AHCI English full name: Serial ATA Advanced host Controller Interface (serial ATA Advanced Master interface/Advanced Host Controller Interface) is an interface standard developed by several companies under Intel's guidance, It allows storage drivers to enable advanced serial ATA features, such as native command queues and hot-swappable, and its research and development team includes Intel, AMD, Dell, Marvell, Mai, Microsoft, Red Hat, Seagate and Storagegear, and other famous enterprises.
AHCI Essence is a PCI class device that acts as a common interface between the system memory bus and the internal logic of a serial CPU device. This class of devices describes a common system memory structure with control and status zones, command sequence entry tables, and each command table entry contains SSD device programming information and a pointer to a description table that transmits data to the device and host.
For computer-like children's shoes, as long as you know by turning on the hard drive AHCI mode, you can improve the performance of the hard drive to some extent. For now, most desktop computers default to IDE mode, and the hard drive AHCI mode needs to go into the BIOS setting to open. Most of the notebooks are already using AHCI mode by default.
The approximate steps to enter the BIOS to turn on the hard drive AHCI mode are: Reboot the computer, press Del to enter the BIOS when starting the computer, select Devices→ata drives Setup→configure SATA as→ahci in turn, Finally press the F10 key to save and exit the BIOS, as shown below:
About AHCI What do you believe that we have known, as long as we know in the computer, I can open hard disk AHCI mode to some extent to improve the performance of a computer performance optimization method, now the mechanical hard disk performance has become a major bottleneck in the performance of the machine, through a certain optimization, To achieve a better computer experience, of course, if you want to improve the best hard drive performance, now solid-state hard disk is a good choice.
