Clipboard: A temporary area in memory that, when you use the copy or Cut command in a program, temporarily stores information about the copied or cut content and its format on the clipboard for "paste" use. When a picture is stored in the current clipboard, the Clipboard takes up a lot of memory.
Clear the contents of the Clipboard
Specific actions:
Step 1. Click Start, point to Programs or all programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Clipboard Viewer to open the Clipboard Viewer window.
Step 2. On the Edit menu, click Delete.
Step 3. Close the Clipboard Viewer window.
Warm tip: The above mentioned clipboard, often known as the system Clipboard. If you are using a Microsoft Office program and you use multiple clipboard features, you should empty the items on the Office Clipboard by clicking on the Office Clipboard task pane (Office XP) or the toolbar (Office 2000), click Empty all or empty the Clipboard. When you empty the Office Clipboard, the system Clipboard is also emptied.
