The LCD has the following differences from the CRT monitor.
Note One: Refresh frequency
The refresh rate is the vertical scan frequency (field frequency) of the monitor, which refers to the number of times the electron gun is scanned across the screen per second, in Hz (Hertz). For CRT monitors, the image displayed on a CRT monitor is made up of a number of fluorescent dots, each fluorescence point shines under the impact of the electron beam, but the fluorescence point luminescence time is very short, so constantly have the electron beam to refresh and hit the phosphor to keep the glow, and only fast enough, the human eye can see the continuous more stable picture, Can not feel the screen flicker and jitter, the eye is not easy to fatigue. So the CRT display refresh rate in the relevant resolution of not less than 85Hz to make people look more comfortable.
and CRT monitors to split the screen into a number of scan lines to refresh the picture will appear when the problem of flashing, LCD image is not scanned by electronic gun, but by controlling whether light and dark, so the LCD refresh is to the whole picture to refresh, lcd even in the lower refresh rate such as 60Hz, Also does not appear flicker phenomenon, the image is stable.
Therefore, in the adjustment LCD does not need to increase the refresh frequency, using 60Hz (1024768 resolution)/75hz (12801024 resolution) or the default adapter can be.
In addition, you must choose to install the appropriate monitor driver, do not randomly select the monitor driver used by the CRT monitor, install the drive that shipped with the LCD display, or display the portable computer display panel (1024768 or 12801024) in the Monitor standard monitor type in the properties.
Note Two: color number
As you know, the current mainstream CRT color display support 32-bit true color, but LCD is not all the same. At present, most entry-level LCD in the market is the LCD panel is 6bit panel, it can only display 262144 colors (646464=262144), and only 8bit panels can display 16777216 colors (256256256=16777216).
So when adjusting the 6bit panel entry level LCD, the display color will be adjusted to enhance color (16-bit) to meet the demand, so as to avoid graphics card calls more memory to support high color, but caused waste.
Note Three: visual angle
The visual angle of a monitor is the maximum angle from which all the contents on the screen can be clearly seen from different directions, and the visual angle of the CRT monitor can theoretically close to or around 180 degrees. Because the LCD is the use of light transmission to the image, so the LCD visual angle compared to the CRT monitor smaller. In the LCD, direct and oblique light will penetrate the same display area of pixels, so from the point of view of the screen is larger than the angle can be seen in the image of ghosting and discoloration.
Currently on the market, the horizontal (or left) visual angle of the liquid crystal display is generally more than 120 degrees, while the vertical (up and down) visual angle to slightly smaller, generally in 100 degrees or more. In the use of a better visual angle, in addition to adjusting the posture or display angle to the LCD as far as possible, can appropriately adjust the brightness of the LCD, which also allows the LCD can be used to maximize the visual angle.
