What should I do if the tplink wireless extender is often disconnected?

After the wireless expansion device successfully signals the wireless signal of the main router, the wireless terminal may experience instability or disconnection when connected to the internet. Please refer to the following steps for troubleshooting.

 

The location of the expansion device is unreasonably placed. If the source router is too far away from the source router, the signal strength of the source router is too weak, which may lead to unsuccessful or unstable expansion. The color of the extended indicator can be used to determine whether the positions of the extended indicator are reasonable. See the following table:

Green	40% ≤ front-end signal strength ≤ 80%, expansion successful, and reasonable placement of the expansion device
Orange	Front-end signal strength> 80% or <40%, expansion is successful, but the position of the expansion device is not properly placed, too close or too far

Solution: Adjust the position of the extended device according to the indicator light status to ensure that the indicator light is green.

When you use an extended scanner to scan the wireless signal of the front-end primary router, if you see a lot of wireless signals around it, too many signals will produce wireless interference, resulting in wireless instability. As shown in the following figure:

Solution: Log on to the management interface of the primary router and set the wireless channels to 1, 6, and 11 (try to select a channel with less intensity among the three channels ). Try to stay away from the microwave oven, cordless phones, and wireless mouse and keyboard.

The wireless extender has a certain number of hosts. If too many wireless devices are connected, it will lead to instability if it exceeds the number of wireless devices.

Solution: Check the host status in the wireless settings. If too many wireless terminals are connected, we recommend that you set a wireless MAC address filter to limit the number of wireless access connections or replace a wireless router with a large number of hosts.
