What should I do if tplink optical cat authentication fails?

Applicable questions:The LoID registration for the TL-GP110 or TL-EP110 is not successful.

Troubleshoot as follows:

1. Confirm whether the carrier's optical fiber line type is EPON or GPON. The line type must match the optical cat type before use.

2. Ask the carrier to confirm whether there are limits on the number of PON devices purchased by users.

3. Whether the LOS indicator is off. When the optical reception power is normal, the LOS indicator should be off (the optical reception power of EPON is between-28dBm and-3dBm, GPON receives light from-30dBm to-8dBm)

 

If the LOS light is not extinguished, the optical fiber line is faulty. Check whether the optical fiber interface is loose or contact the carrier to check whether the optical fiber line is normal.

4. You can often try to re-plug and unplug the optical fiber. If the optical fiber is not properly connected, the LOS light may turn off, but the authentication fails.

5. Confirm the authentication method and Authentication Parameters. Be sure to fill in the correct LoID (case sensitive ).

6. Try to change the authentication mode one by one and then test whether the authentication can be passed.

 

6. Check whether the latest software version is available on the official website. Upgrade the software to the latest standard version before resetting.

1. Different software versions are available for different regions and carriers. Do not use them across regions. The method used to determine the region can be distinguished by the logo at the bottom of the device, as shown in the following figure:

3. Confirm that the LoID parameter is correct. Note that the LoID is case-insensitive and no password exists in some regions. If you are not sure, contact the broadband carrier.

5. Ask the carrier to confirm whether the operator has limited the number of PON devices that users can purchase on their own.

6. If conditions are met, confirm that other optical cats can use the same authentication parameters on the line for normal authentication.
