When The FC port is enabled for VNX for File, The message "Error 14: The Block Enabler is not present" is displayed"

Fault symptom:

When you enter the following command, the following error is reported:

Checking if running on primary CS... yes

Checking if running as root... yes

Checking for integrated system... yes

Error 14: The Block Enabler is not present, it is required for this upgrade to proceed.

Run the following command to check whether the system is File-only.

#/Nas/sbin/model-option-list

Option enabled: not available --> indicates File Only.

Cause analysis:

VNX File Only does not support FC activation flag, nor does it support adding any hardware upgrade flag using the "nas_hw_upgrade" command. You must upgrade from File Only to uniied.

Solution:

Use USM to import the Unified NDU License or use the command line to import the Enabler and upgrade the File Only to the Unified License.
