Will formatting hard disks (not low) affect hard drive life?

Common hard disk formatting does not affect the hard disk life. Formatting is divided into advanced formatting and low-level formatting. Advanced formatting only clears data on the hard disk, generates boot information, initializes the fat table, and marks logical Bad Sectors. Low-level formatting divides the hard disk into a cylindrical and track, and then divides the track into several sectors. Each sector also divides the ID, interval, Gap, and data in the data area. Low-level formatting is a task before advanced formatting. Each hard disk is formatted low-level before leaving the factory. Low-level formatting is a type of consumable operation, which has a negative impact on hard disk life. The formatting in Windows (including the formatting in DOS) we usually use is actually advanced formatting.
Formatting of newly purchased hard disks, including high and low, will not affect their service life.
Compared with the past, the physical structure of the hard disk has changed, which directly affects the change in the implementation mode of the corresponding hard disk commands, the most important factor is the change in the formatting command caused by the change in the hard disk seeking method. Currently, users can access the converted logical sector instead of the physical sector corresponding to the physical head. In this way, you can no longer operate hard disks in the physical sense. Currently, the so-called low-level formatting only achieves reset and redirection of Bad Sectors, and does not support hard disk regeneration or physical restoration.
For frequently used advanced formatting, "Quick formatting" only resets the hard disk partition table. Even if it is "completely formatted", it only resets all sectors except the hard disk partition table. It can be seen that the formatting commands run by users are not essentially different from other common read/write operations. In the whole life of the hard disk, the read/write times can only be measured by astronomical numbers, the number of formatting or ghost operations is negligible. According to the existing hard disk manufacturing technology, hard disk damage caused by reading and writing is rare in common applications, most hard disk faults are related to external physical collisions, sudden power outages during read/write operations, and circuit damage. Therefore, the only thing to consider in formatting is to avoid the above situations.
