During the upgrade, unis may be temporarily disconnected. Once the upgrade is complete, it will automatically reconnect.
We recommend that you pause all IO activities before you continue the upgrade. The upgrade may be destructive in the following situations:
1. When you plan to upgrade OE software on a single SP VNXe3100/3150 system, system storage will be temporarily inaccessible during software restart. Therefore, you should not schedule software upgrades during peak hours. In this case, you must schedule software upgrades during the maintenance period.
2. Important software updates may include changes to VNXe high availability and cluster services. When upgrading to these software versions, it may take some time (especially when upgrading from version 2.1 to 2.2 ).
3. In the case of huge and complex configurations, if the system exceeds the total number of allowed file systems and snapshots, the pre-upgrade health check may fail. In this case, it is recommended that you delete some snapshots for upgrade.
4. In some cases, the ESX server may need to be manually refreshed to reconnect to the data storage.
