Windows and Mac versions of Skype chat are more like Windows Phone versions, whether they like it or not.
Microsoft's Skype department has released its Mac version of Skype 7.0 and a new version of Windows Skype Preview. All two versions of Skype include a large number of improved features, including Mac 7.0, which enables users to chat via video while chatting via text. But there is still a lot of "white space" on the chat screen.
"Over the past year, we've spent a lot of time upgrading Skype's chat experience, and we've made more improvements to desktop Skype," Tom Huang, a Skype executive, said Huang. ”
Overall, Skype's new chat interface looks good, with rounded avatars representing users ' friends. Photos and documents can be easily inserted into a chat conversation. Although the layout is not ideal, this is useful when chatting with colleagues and friends. On the phone, scrolling content is part of the user experience, which is a bit annoying on the PC, but Microsoft says the spacing is good.
The Mac version of Skype 7.0 allows users to simultaneously text and video chat in parallel windows, commenting while sharing photos and documents. Microsoft also promised that the free video chat feature, which was released earlier, would also be improved.
The Skype team is committed to releasing more upgrades in the future.
