Monitoring Windows hosts with SNMP requires the installation of Windows components for Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) on the server being monitored, taking windows 7 as an example: First, find "Uninstall a program" in the control Panel;
Click "Turn Windows features on or off" in the pop-up window;
Tick the "Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)" entry in the pop-up window and click OK and follow the prompts to complete the installation.
After you complete the installation of the SNMP service, right-click Computer, select Manage
Locate the service in the left navigation bar of the Computer Management window that appears, and locate the SNMP service item on the right.
Double-click the SNMP Service option in the pop-up window to switch to the Security tab, such as adding "accepted community names" and receiving SNMP packets from those hosts.
The "Accepted community name" is any character that you define, and receiving the SNMP packets sent by those hosts is defined as your Nagios server. The SNMP service for the Windows host that is being monitored here is configured to complete.
