win7/win8/8.1 Wireless play audio and video features: Play to

Starting with Win7, Windows Media Player 12 introduced the play to feature. It allows users to play the video, audio, or pictures in the computer library directly onto other computers, TVs or stereos in the same network segment (LAN or WiFi) to achieve the effect of wireless playback and easily create a home wireless AV system. This feature also continues to be extended and hardened in Windows8/windows 8.1 in Windows Media Player 12.

Play to Purpose: In general, you can select files such as video or audio, pictures, and so on in the Windows Media Player 12 Library, if there is a device available in your network environment, such as a WiFi-enabled TV, Audio or another computer or tablet that has been added to your home network, you can use play to in the right-click menu to enable remote playback.

How do you operate this feature to create your own wireless AV system?

Test environment: Windows 8.1 Enterprise Edition, has joined a WiFi hotspot network, tested the remote computer wz-pc.

1, change their network location, from the original public network to support the shared private network

2. Open the Control Panel, select network or Sharing Center, click "Change advanced sharing Settings", set the media streaming function in all networks.

4. After returning to the Windows Media Player player, switch to the Media Library interface, select the media streaming feature, tick two "Allow remote control of my player", "Allow devices to play my media automatically"
