After upgrading from Win8.1 to Win10, a problem with 2 OneDrive folders appears on the left side of Windows Explorer, as shown in the following illustration:
Solution:
We solve this problem by modifying the key values in the registration table.
Tip: There is a risk of modifying the registry, please back up the data in advance and carefully operate under the guidance of a professional person.
Win8.1 OneDrive icon Registry location:
"[Hkey_classes_root\clsid\{8e74d236-7f35-4720-b138-1fed0b85ea75}\shellfolder]"
Win10 OneDrive icon Registry location :
"Hkey_classes_root\clsid\{018d5c66-4533-4307-9b53-224de2ed1fe6}\shellfolder"
On the Windows desktop, press the "Win" key + "R" to start the Run dialog box. The "Win" key is the key to the Microsoft window pattern on the left alt side of the keyboard. In the Run dialog box, enter "Regedit" and return to run the Registry Editor as shown below:
After opening Registry Editor, locate "Hkey_classes_root\clsid\{8e74d236-7f35-4720-b138-1fed0b85ea75\shellfolder}" in the Tree list box on the left before deleting this key item, Can be backed up, click the mouse "right", and then click the "Export" menu to back up. After the backup, and then through the DELETE key, delete the key item. The following figure:
Once the deletion is complete, we need to restart this "Windows Explorer".
Press "Ctrl+alt+del" to open Task Manager. Click on the lower left corner of the "details", switch to the "Process" tab page, find "Windows Explorer" below, select the click "Right mouse button", in the pop-up menu, then click the "Restart" item, the following figure:
After you restart Windows Explorer, and then open Explorer, you can see that the left side of the OneDrive is only one left, so the problem is solved.
