1. Preparatory work

(1) Download Ubuntu14.04 system image file, ULTRAISO,EASYBCD, partition assistant

(2) U disk one (more than 2G)

2. Make USB drive installation disk

(1) Formatted USB drive (general Fat32 fast format)

(1) Installation UltraISO

(2) Open UltraISO, select Image file, i.e. Ubuntu-14.04-desktop-i386.iso

(3) Select "Start"-"Write to Hard disk image":

Hard drive: Select your USB drive

Write mode: usb-hdd+

Select "Quick Start"-"Write to new drive boot Sector"-"syslinux"-"Yes" (boot sector write succeeded)

(It is likely that the write failed, please reformat the USB flash drive, and close similar to 360 security guard, anti-virus and other software, download Ultrasio official website software, repeat the above steps)

Select "Write" (wait four or five minutes for OK)-"Back"

3. Disk allocation work (general use is also 20G, I assigned a 100G empty disk)

(1) Installation partition Assistant

(2) Run the Partition assistant, select a disk with large free space, right click to select "Create Partition", set the disk size, determine

(3) When the new partition is assigned, right-click on desktop computer-management-Disk Management-Select newly allocated partition-right click on "Delete Volume" to get an empty space (free space), which is the Ubuntu installation disk space

4. Install Ubuntu

(1) Plug in the production of the U disk

(2) Restart Windows7

(3) Press ESC or F12 (different from the computer), enter the startup item selection, select USB Storage Device

(4) Ubuntu installation interface appears, choose to install Ubuntu (installed Ubuntu)

(5) A networked or non-networked installation interface appears:

When the internet is not good, it is recommended to use the "non-networked Installation" method, the speed of the network, you can use the "Networked Installation" method (download updates in the installation)

Install this third-party software: The software used to play audio, etc., can choose to install or choose not to install (I chose to install)

Click "Continue" (continue)

(6) The partition interface appears, be sure to select the bottom "other options", click "Continue" (continue)

(7) The system disk interface appears, select free space, the bottom option (the device that installs the boot launcher) remains the same, that is, your entire computer disk (compare size, confirm that your computer disk)

(8) Select "+" to create a new partition:

Create four partitions in the free space, respectively, the root partition (/), swap partition (swap), boot partition, and home partition

Root partition: Other partitions are hung on this partition, general recommendation 10G

Swap partition: Typically 1-2 times the size of your computer's memory

Boot partition: Ubuntu system boot partition, general 200M enough to use

Home partition: The user holds the file area

　　Partitioning options:

Root partition: Size-recommended 10G, new partition type-primary partition, new partition location-space start position, for-select "/"

Interactive partitioning: Size-recommended twice times memory, new partition type-logical partition, new partition location-space start position, for-Select Swap Space (/swaparea)

Boot partition: Size-recommended 200M, new partition type-logical partition, new partition location-space start position, for-select "/boot"

Home partition: Size-remaining free space, new partition type-logical partition, new partition location-space start position, for-"/home"

Note: Here the new partition type, generally this is the best choice, if all selected as the primary partition, may not be able to partition, because the disk under Windows may generally be the primary partition, then there will be problems

(9) Select location

(10) Keyboard layout (select "Chinese"-"Chinese")

(11) Set User name and password (must be set)

(12) Wait for installation to finish

(13) Restart (Restart), system using Ubuntu Grub Boot System

5. System Boot Entry modification:

(1) Restart the system, in the Ubuntu grub option, select Windows, enter Windows system

(2) Installation EASYBCD

(3) Select "Add New Startup Item" (Add Entry)

(4) Select "Linux/bsd"-type: "GRUB 2"-Name: "Ubuntu14.04"-Disk drive: "Install Ubuntu/boot partition, i.e. Linux-190mib" (that is, size is about 190MiB)-"Add" Entry)

(5) Select "Edit Boot Menu"-Adjust the boot order and wait Time yourself
