In a Windows XP system, an account that is able to log on interactively, in addition to the accounts that we have built up later, has two built-in accounts: one is administrator and the other is Guest account guest. We can use the Net user command in the CMD environment to view account information, as shown in the following figure:

We can also follow the net user command with the name of the account to view the details of the account, as shown below:

Account can be disabled, or can be deleted (except the system built-in account), the use of NET user command can also disable the account, usage: NET user account name/active:no. Note that there are spaces and slashes, as shown below:

Instead, if you want to activate an account, change the No to Yes. Well, the system's built-in account cannot be erased, but it can be disabled, including your current login account and can be disabled, in other words, to disable all accounts that can be logged on interactively in the system. If someone is doing a prank or a spoof of the virus to do so, the consequences will be what? Obviously, when you reboot, the system becomes like this:

There are no users on the login screen because all are disabled. Press and hold ctrl+alt+ two times del key switch to classic login mode, enter account name and password can not log in, the following figure:

What should we do? All accounts have no way to log in, can only reload the system? Of course not, follow me step-by-step to solve this problem.

First of all, you may think of safe mode or use the Last Known Good configuration, but unfortunately this is not working, if the reader is interested, you can experiment (recommended in the virtual machine). So what do we do? We should know that all of the windows stuff is stored in the registry, including account information, so can you make an open account by directly modifying the registry? Because as long as you can find out whether the account is disabled in the registry in the corresponding position, You can enable this account by modifying the registry.

Mention in the registry when the account of some information stored in the Hklm/sam item below, the problem is that the operating system is unable to log in, how can I edit the registry? This time you have to call out the famous ERD commander, this is a set of emergency Repair Disk, It can be used to guide your hard drive on the operating system, so that some maintenance, super powerful! So our ultimate idea is to use the ERD system to boot the hard drive on the system, modify its registry to implement the Enable account. With the idea, the following is the experiment:

First, use the ERD Commander Boot computer (ERD Commander ISO files can be downloaded online)

Then burn the software to the disc or make a U disk boot disk can be used to start the computer, into the ERD system login interface:

In this login interface, you will list all the operating systems that it detects on this hard drive, select the system you want to boot, and then click OK.

The ERD is starting to boot up the operating system on your hard drive. When the operating system startup completes, start Red System Registry Editor (must be the Registry Editor of the ERD System) from the Start menu, as shown in the following figure:

So, the registry that is now open is the original local hard drive registry, now we can start to modify the registry. In Registry Editor, navigate to: Hklm/sam/sam/domain/users/names, below to enable the Administrator account as an example. Check names the account name below, the right side will display a default key value, the following figure:

In the figure, the Administrator account is 0x1f4. And then on the top of the user item, find out which item's value is 000001F4, select it, and there will be two key values on the right, one called F, and the other is V, as shown below:

Double-click the name "F" to modify its value, which is a binary data type, to change his 39th byte from 11 to 10, 11 for the account to be disabled, and 10 for the guest account for 15 and 14. Click "OK" after the modification is complete, turn off the ERD Registry Editor, reboot the system, solve the problem!
