Wireless Network threats and defense measures for small and medium-sized enterprises (1)

Recently, I have helped a friend establish a wireless network application system in the company. Today, I take this opportunity to share with you the problems encountered in establishing a wireless network in small and medium-sized enterprises, by analyzing wireless network threats and defense methods, we can establish a safer and more effective wireless intranet.

I. Differences and features between wireless networks of small and medium-sized enterprises and traditional wired networks: (1)

The author's friend is a network manager of a small company. He previously rented two rooms on the first floor of the office building for business office use. Recently, with the expansion of the company, two rooms on the second floor of the office building were added. However, a new problem occurs after the expansion. In the past, two rooms were connected through a wired network, but now there is a cross-floor problem in the region. If you relay the cable, you need to carry out construction on the floor. Let alone the increase in construction costs, that is, the time required for the construction process will also affect the original business. I met you when I was unable to do anything about it. At my suggestion, I decided to use a wireless network to solve the above network interconnection problem.

As we all know, a wired network connects all network devices through a network cable. Network cables and network adapters are required for network communication between routers, switches, and computers, while wireless networks are greatly different, currently, the 802.11 standard wireless network is widely used for communication through 2-4 GHz wireless signals. Due to the use of wireless signal communication, it is more flexible in terms of network access, as long as there is a signal, you can use the wireless network card to achieve network access. At the same time, the network manager does not have to worry about the number of vswitches or vro ports being insufficient to complete the expansion. In general, compared with traditional wired networks, wireless networks for small and medium-sized enterprises are mainly characterized by the following two aspects.

(1) more flexible wireless network networking:

Wireless networks use wireless signal communication, making network access more flexible. network devices can be connected to the enterprise intranet anytime and anywhere wherever there is a signal. Therefore, the advantage of wireless network is more obvious when enterprise intranet applications require mobile office or instant demonstration.

(2) more convenient scale upgrade of wireless networks:

The number of devices connected to a wireless network device is limited. Compared with an interface in a wired network, a wireless router allows multiple wireless terminal devices to access a wireless network at the same time, therefore, the advantage of wireless networks is more obvious when the enterprise's network scale is upgraded.
