In the Word2010, there are many kinds of numbering format built-in, users can freely choose their own type, if the number format, you do not like, you can also define their own numbering format.
The steps for defining a new numbering format are described below:
Step 1th, open the Word2010 document window, click the Numbered Drop-down button in the paragraph group in the start Ribbon, and select the Define new numbering format option in the Open Drop-down list, as shown in Figure 1.

Step 2nd, in the open Define New numbering Format dialog box, click the Numbering style drop-down triangle button, select a numbering style in the numbering style Drop-down list, and click the Font button, as shown in Figure 2.

Step 3rd, open the Font dialog box, set the number font, font size, font color, underline, and so on if you really need to (note that you do not set the effects option) and click OK, as shown in Figure 3.

Step 4th, return to the Define new numbering Format dialog box, keep the gray shadow numbering code unchanged in the Numbering format edit box, and enter the necessary characters before or after the code, depending on the actual need. For example, enter "first" in the front, enter "items" at the end, and delete the smaller points that are added by default. Then select the appropriate alignment in the Alignment Drop-down list and click OK, as shown in Figure 4.

Step 5th, return to the Word2010 document window, click the Numbered Drop-down button in the paragraph group in the start Ribbon, and you can see the new numbering format defined in the open number Drop-down list, as shown in Figure 5.

Although the numbering format is only at the bottom of the page, play a hint, but not the same number format, see the effect will be different, users can according to their needs to define their favorite number format.
