When you are working on a Word document, you often need to add prompt text to some key places, but you cannot let the prompts affect the view and print effects of the original text. Therefore, you want the hint text to be automatically displayed when the mouse is near, and automatically disappear when the mouse is moved away. Is there any way to achieve a similar effect in Word?
In Word2010, there are two ways to achieve the automatic display and hidden effects of your mouse pointing: using hyperlinks and endnotes, they each have their pros and cons, and they teach you to use both methods.
One, hyperlinks
In the Word2010 document, the link address is displayed by default when the mouse pointer is over the hyperlink. However, users can customize the hyperlink ScreenTip text as needed, as described in the following steps:
Step 1th, open the Word2010 document window, select the text you want to create a hyperlink to (or you can select no text, but move the insertion cursor to the location where you want to insert the hyperlink). Switch to the Insert ribbon and click the Hyperlink button in the links group.
2nd step, open the Insert Hyperlink dialog box, the text to display box has been automatically entered text, in the Address box to enter a link address (because you do not have to Ctrl click Jump, you need to prompt, the address to enter any).
Step 3rd, click the ScreenTip button, enter the ScreenTip text in the Open Set Hyperlink ScreenTip dialog box, and click OK to turn the text blue and underline.

Step 4th, return to the Insert Hyperlink dialog box, and click the OK button. Point to the hyperlink text in the Word2010 document, and the customized Hyperlink ScreenTip appears.
Tip: Hyperlinks that turn blue and underline affect the printing effect, select any link to set the font color to automatic, and remove the underline to restore it to its original form. Then click the right mouse button on the link text to select style and then click Update Hyperlink to match the selection, and then make sure that all the link text formats are consistent with the text.
Second, endnotes
First position the input cursor to the text you want to add, switch to the Reference tab, click Insert Endnote, and the input cursor will be automatically positioned at the end of the article, where you can enter a hint. Now go back to add the endnote place, you can see a number "I" in the upper right corner, the mouse point to the number or a previous word, it will show the hint, double-click the number to jump to the last page corresponding to the hint to modify.
Tip: If you do not want to print endnotes, as long as the cursor positioning to the body at the end, press the "Ctrl return" force pagination, printing does not select the page can be. In addition, the number that shows the endnote can be hidden, the selected number is set to white, and the hyperlink text is similar, right-click and then select Style and click Update Endnote reference to match the selection.
In general, hyperlinks to text, pictures, and other objects can add a hint, that is, the total number of prompts in a row "hold CTRL and click the accessible link", a little unsightly. Endnotes can only insert hints in the text, but more convenient to centrally edit, print the contents of the hint, and show the hint is not redundant text, but also automatic branch, you can choose according to demand.
