Microsoft Windows powered smartphone software development kit contains a new simulator environment. The environment provides a virtual computer that can run the smartphone program on an intel X86 processor. The hardware of the virtual computer is the same as that of the x86 computer running Microsoft Windows CE.
Early Windows CE simulators relied on a special simulator compiler to deliver commands to the underlying Windows NT operating system. However, this may cause dramatic differences in interfaces and functions between the simulator and the device. The new simulator is based on Windows CE and smartphone components, so the new simulation environment has a high degree of anthropomorphic reality for the actual device.
In addition, the new simulator is no longer limited to simulating the English version of smartphone. For more information, see running a different language version of smartphone in the emulator. Other images can be downloaded at http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/#/downloads/default.asp. These images show how to test applications in different languages. To learn about simulator commands or how to deploy applications on simulators, You can query using the emulator. For more information about the limitations of the simulator, see understanding the emulator's limitations.
