I. The base of XML

XML is developed and standard-developed by the world Wide WEB Consortium International organization. The most authoritative thing about XML is that the latest news comes from the consortium. URL is: http://w3c.org/XML/


Another former famous SGML research organization called Oasis is also driving the development of XML, the Web site is: http://www.oasis-open.org/


Two. XML guide

A detailed, complete description of the XML specification by the consortium. Needless to say, absolute authority.

This is the XML specification written by Tim Bary, very detailed and rigorous, and a good helper for learning XML specifications.

Peter Flynn's XML FAQ

Contains a large amount of detailed information that is frequently updated and maintained by the Consortium's XML group.


Lisa Rein ' s finetuning XML FAQs

Five. XML editing software


There are still very few editing software for XML documents. Although we can write it by hand, if you have a good software (like writing HTML with DW/FP), you can reduce errors and improve efficiency. Here are some of the existing editing software.

Macromedia the latest Dreamweaver 4.0 has supported the authoring of XML documents. Recommended use.

Microsoft has never lagged behind in this respect, and its XML Notepad is a very small and flexible XML document editor. Recommended use.

Adobe's FrameMaker Plus is currently a good XML editing software.

Arbortext is a company that focuses on developing XML games.

Inso, as if it were a software used to process large SGML or XML documents.

Parser is a software that checks whether the syntax of an XML document conforms to a DTD definition and resolves it.

James Clark is a veteran of the Sgml/xml field, and his parser is widely used.

A parser, written in the Java language, from IBM.

Microsoft's XML Parser, written in C + +.

Schema as we've described before, DTDs are a schema, we can write DTDs by hand, but now there are schema editing software that helps us create DTDs more easily.
