Two important branches:
1. User's personal data [HKEY_CURRENT_USER]
This branch stores personal data such as personal preferences for the current logged-on user, settings for the software used, and so on. You can modify registry data that is personal to you, whether you are a guest, a limited user, an advanced user, or an administrator. The user's personal registry data is the items, subkeys, and value entries contained in the left pane of Registry Editor [HKEY_CURRENT_USER].
2. Core data of the system [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE]
Only users with administrator privileges can access the system registry data, which stores the important core settings data in the system. The registry data for the system is the items, subkeys, and value entries that are contained in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE] that are displayed in the left pane of Registry Editor.
Back up the registry:

First step: Click "Start → run" (or command line prompt), and enter the following command to export two registry branches (drive, path, and file customizable), The size of the Myreg.reg is about 8MB~9MB, and the Sysreg.reg size is about 30MB~60MB, depending on the individual situation slightly different.
Reg Export HKCU C:myreg.reg
REG Export HKLM C:sysreg.reg
Step Two: Right-click Myreg.reg and Sysreg.reg, and select Edit or send to → Notepad (Create right-click menu "Send to → Notepad" To copy the Notepad shortcut from the Start menu to the C:documents Andsettingsusernamesendto folder), open the Myreg.reg file with the Notepad program.
Step Three: Click the menu command "edit → find", enter the keyword to find the content, click "Find Next". Finds a data, deletes it, modifies it, and then presses the F3 key to continue to find the next data. Find, modify all the data, select the menu "file → save" to save the registry file.
The registry is a powerful database, and sometimes our improper operation may lose the registry data, so we have to back it up before we operate it, so it's a good idea to make a backup change with Notepad.
