- Supported systems: Ubuntu 8.04
- Running Environment: run in the Console environment. The framebuffer driver must be installed in the system.
- Permission requirements: Root User, localProgramThe installation requires the root permission to ensure the normal installation of the program.
- Usage:
- 1: Decompress release_for_ubuntu.tgz to any directory; tar xzf release_for_ubuntu.tgz;
- 2: Go to the release_for_ubuntu directory after decompression: CD release_for_ubuntu;
- 3: Run install. Sh to install the pps vod Library (please confirm that you have the root permission):./install. Sh;
- 4: After the installation is complete, the following player is available on the console:./mplayer-playlist playlist.txt;
- 5: start playing. You can use the mplayer operation buttons to implement fast forward, fast return, pause, program switching, and other functions;
Note: pps for Ubuntu 8.04 decoder includes rmvb and WMV related decoder. If there is no image during playback, you can install these decoder. Usage: copy the extracted dynamic library file (. So) to the "/usr/local/lib/codecs/" directory.
Then install the totem PPS plug-in,

After installation, in the totem film player program window, click the "plug-in" under "edit" to open the "Configure plug-in" dialog box. If the PPS plug-in is successfully installed, you can see the "PPStream Browser" option in the plug-in list. Select this option and select PPStream on the sidebar.
