How to add a read-only or modify password for a Word document: Let's start with the new key a Word document. Click: File-Save As.
Click: Tools-Security options.
The Security dialog box pops up, where you can set the open (read only) password and modify the password.
You can change the encryption mode by clicking on the advanced later. But the average person is not used.
We set up two passwords separately, as determined.
The Confirm open password will pop up. Then press OK.
Then prompted: Enter the change password. Finally confirm, then click Save.
The password is then set.
When we open this document, we first prompt for a password, note, you can only enter: Open password, that is, the first password. Press OK.
At this point, you will be prompted to enter a modified password (if you have not previously set the two password, it will be opened directly). If you don't know the second password, you can only press the read-only button to open it in read-only mode.
Opened as read-only, there is a read-only flag in the header of the file.
With a second password, enter the password and press OK to open it.
The result is of course different. There is no read-only flag at the header.
