BIND9 Scenarios

BIND9 can be installed in many types of configurations.
The most commonly used configurations are:

Buffer server: This is useful for broadband connected hosts or small networks. By buffering your DNS queues, you can reduce bandwidth consumption, or you may be able to reduce your bandwidth usage (or even reduce your broadband costs).

Master server: BIND9 can be used to provide DNS records (pointing to the domain's group of records) for registered or virtual domain names (for restricted networks only).

From server: used from the server to provide a full backup of the configuration domain on the primary server. If you want to support a registered domain name, it is recommended that you use it from the server in a larger organization (larger network or on the Internet). Because doing so ensures that your DNS domain is still available even if your primary server is not online.

Blending mode: You can even configure BIND9 as a buffer and primary server, a buffer server and a server, or even a buffer, master, or server. And all this simply merges the different configurations in this document together.

Private server: There are two other commonly used DNS server installations (run with registered domain name): Private home Server and private from server. They work the same as the primary and the DNS services, but differ in their organizational structure.

For example, you have 3 DNS servers: A, B, and C.

A is the primary server, B and C are from the server. If you configure a and B to be your domain DNS server, then C is a private from the server. It is also a from server, but a and B that you provide services to the Internet will not ask the domain.

If you configure B and C to be your domain DNS server, then A is a private home server. Any additional records or edits to the region are made on A, but computers on the Internet will only ask the fields in B and C.
