The world's fastest computer ranking in half a year was released at the beginning of June. Not surprisingly, most of them run in a form of Linux operating system. The Linux Foundation's Amanda McPherson by citing a http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/13840.html "> Any one of the supercomputer's improvements to Linux is a phenomenon that is poured into the kernel (sic: that any improvements to Linux made by one of the supercomputer manufacturers got Poured back into the kernel, looking forward to translation improvements, discusses the positive impact of this data on end users. The first piece of news on Top500list, the official website of Top 500, is that China's dawning "nebula" supercomputer is the second fastest supercomputer in the world with 1.271 pflop/s Linpack (1271 trillion times per second).

The world's Super distribution map

The supercomputer, ranked top 500, is still the champion of the top year December-the Jaguar "Jaguar" from Cray, with 1.75 pflop/s (1750 trillion times per second) computing power. According to the official figures, "Jaguar" employs 224,162 processor cores.

The "Nebula" from China uses the Shuguang TC3600 Modular blade Server as a node, the processor is the 32NM process six core Xeon X5650, and uses the Nvidia Tesla C2050 GPU to do the processing (the theoretical calculation peak performance can reach 2980 trillion times per second), and thus makes The nebula has become the most computationally powerful supercomputer in China and even in Asia.

Among the top five, IBM's "Roadrunner" was ranked third, Kraken ranked fourth. Germany's Jugene is ranked fifth by the IBM Blue Gene (the fastest supercomputer in Europe). Overall, TOP10 ranked 7 supercomputers located in the United States, Europe 1, and China has 2, respectively, is the nebula and the seventh Tianhe (fifth in the last issue, using the Intel processor as a computing node, using AMD chips as a coprocessor).

"Keep in mind that today's desktop PC was considered a supercomputer not long ago!" McPherson added.

The United States still has the largest number of supercomputers, as well as the fastest--cray XT Jaguar (Jaguar supercomputer). The Cray XT Jaguar contains 224,162 processing cores, with a floating-point speed of 1.759 skins (1*10^15) per second.

The number of Chinese supercomputers has risen to 24, similar to Germany's and the second highest in performance, after the US.

IBM has 196 supercomputers, the market share of the first (accounting for 39% of the market). HP followed, with 186 processors, accounting for 37.2% of the market.

The performance of supercomputing is generally evaluated by Linpack standard. The standard allows the computer to solve a linear equation-intensive system with some scalability to optimize the performance of a given system. Simply put, every system under the Linpack standard is tested under ideal conditions. In this list, the system from China accounted for 24 units, is a very big promotion. China is now ranked second only to the US, UK and France in High-performance computing, with 15 of high-performance computing systems on the list in June 2008, thanks to the rapid development of China's high-performance computing and the decline of Germany, Top500 said.

A 81.6% per cent share and a system of 90% or more four cores makes Intel almost monopolize the high-end processor market. In the entire list, 85% of the system employs four cores, while 5% of the systems already use six or more cores of processors.
