Using Rational Team concert to track the rational System architect model

In this process, changes to the model need to be tracked in order to achieve efficient conversion. This article demonstrates how to use the OSLC functionality in the rational system Architect to track the various changes in the rational system Architect model using the Rational Team concert.

Open Source Lifecycle Collaboration open service for Life-cycle collaboration (OSLC) is a community of software developers and organizations whose purpose is to standardize the way software lifecycle tools share data (such as requirements, defects, test cases, plans, or code).

OSLC integration in Rational System Architect

The Rational System Architect 11.4 supports OSLC integration by exposing enterprise artifacts as OSLC providers. It also supports the use of OSLC services as OSLC consumers of various Rational tools, including Ibm®rational team concert™, ibm®rational®requirements Composer, IBM® rational®doors® and Ibm®rational®change software.

Modeling and checking enterprise artifacts in Rational System Architect

This article uses the following use cases as an example to explain the integration of the rational System ARCHITECT-OSLC with the Rational team concert:

The Business Modeler builds the model blueprint and requests the reviewer's comments by associating the model with the Rational team concert change request. When the modeler completes the model and sets the status of the change request to Fixed, the Inspector is notified (through the e-mail system in the Rational Team concert). The inspector examines the model changes and then performs one of the following actions:

If the model looks good, the inspector changes the Rational team concert changeset state to Resolve state, indicating that the model was captured correctly and that the task was completed. If additional changes are required, the inspector will change the Rational team concert changeset state to Triage state and provide comments in the changeset to show that the modeler needs to change the model.

Similarly, the modeler is notified by the Rational Team concert e-mail system to follow up.
