Friends Company has a server DC Windows 2003 system responsible for the entire unit of the Daily Office
As time goes by, the old servers are getting worse. So I bought a new server. Plan to retire the old server.
We are going to migrate.
Make sure the user on the DC cannot be lost!
In addition, 2003 of DC still can be opened (this is the key)!
So intend to give him a smooth migration to 2008 (new server Loaded Windows2008)
General idea!
First, add 08 as an additional domain controller to the 03 system that is now running!
After data synchronization, what DNS, user information and so on ~ (remember, such as data synchronization, otherwise you are ready to new resume)
Start migration of 5 roles.
The general idea is as above. Here is a brief description of the procedure.
First of all, you add extra domain control, and it's Windows2008, but 08 doesn't recognize it, and we let him know.
We mounted 08 of the discs in 03.
Use the command prompt to enter the source/adprep of the 08 CD
1: Run adprep/forestprep to extend the forest
2: Run adprep/rodcprep rodc ( 08, so let 03 also know)
3: Run the adprep/domainprep/gpprep domain extension!
After doing this, we are ready to add additional domain control!
Then we put 08 into the domain, run Dcpromo/adv with a wizard to formally add Windows2008 such as windows2003~ (step omitted too much, the key is relatively simple)
Here we start moving all the characters:
Move
ArchitectureHost
Schema)
Enter " regsvr32 schmmgmt.dll" in the Run to register
Select MMC to add an operations master icon.
Select AD Schema and right-click on "Operations master" to change 03 to 08
Moving the PDC RID and infrastructure master
Enter DSA.MASC in the run to open AD users and Computers
Right-click "Operations master" to move the PDC RID and infrastructure master
Special Note : In the transfer of the structure of the host will be prompted to the effect that the GC and infrastructure master cannot be together, but we have only one domain and only one machine does not matter!
Last move domain naming master
Open Active Directory Domains and Trusts
Right-click on "Operations master" to move.
At last
Run the netdom query FSMO to see if 5 permissions have been moved to the 08 server.
If it succeeds, it moves over. Well, congratulations, you're smart. You have successfully migrated 03DC to the 08 server. and is seamless smooth migration, write the report at the end of the time remember to write the first Olympics!
Finally, if you want 03 and 08 to coexist, then you'd better remove the 03 GC.
If you don't want to be 03, run dcpromo/forceremoval .
Remember that the DNS and the site service 03 operating system related data deleted otherwise will be error, and if DHCP is assigned DNS or static DNS so remember to change the client DNS
2003DC migration to 2008!
