5 Quick selection tools in Photoshop

PS There are many selection tools, how to pick the selection tool, depending on the selected object, such as a simple object banana or a very complex object hair and so on.

This tutorial is written primarily for beginners, explaining how to use 5 quick selection tools to create a valid selection.

1: Magic Wand Tool

This is the easiest way to create a selection, but it is only more effective when the background color is solid.

Therefore, when the background of the object you want to select is a blank background, you can use the Magic wand tool, such as a picture of a product shot.

When you create a selection, first, make sure that the picture is in a layer, just right-click the background layer and select and choose ' Layer from Background '. Then, select the Magic Wand tool to click the background.

This way, the background is selected, and you can delete the background and add a new background to the layer below it.

2: Pen Tool

If it is smooth, curved, and has a hard edge of the object, use the Pen tool is more appropriate.

Select the Pen tool, and then click and drag along the edge of the object, and then open the mouse to close when you encounter the path again.

Then, select the direct Selection tool, which you can use to clean the path and move the path, or adjust the angle, by clicking on the anchor point. When you finish the path, right-click and select Create Selection.

This allows the object to be selected and can be reversed to remove the background.

3: Color Range

If you want to select an object that has a significant color difference from the background, you can create complex selections, such as water waves, by color range.

Select > Color range and use the Color picker to click the object. In this case, I'm clicking on the white area of the water wave.

Click OK to create the selection, and then copy the selection and paste it into another picture.
