I have used Personal Oracle + rj2000 to develop some programs. When I port the program to oracle for nt, I find that some functions are faulty. The study found that the user was not able to connect normally. Because you do not need an alias (alias) when connecting to the personal oracle in iis2000, you can directly write the user name/password.
In OracleFOR NT, aliases must be set when connecting users. In the program, user/password @ alias is used to connect users. Therefore, the user/password format previously written cannot connect to the user normally. Because the workload of modifying the program is too large, it is decided to modify some parameter files to achieve direct connection in the form of user/password without alias. The specific implementation steps are as follows:
FOR Oracle7 FOR NT
1. First set an ALIAS using net easy config that comes with Oracle.
The procedure is as follows:
I. Start net easy config in oracle for win95.
Ii. Fill in the new service name as the alias you need (the name can be set by yourself ).
Iii. Select Protocol (TCP/IP, SPX, etc)
Iv. enter the name of the db server where Oracle for nt is located.
V. Fill in the SID of Oracle (but save it as ORCL ).
Vi. Complete.
2. Find ORACLE. INI in the path of the Operating System (c: \ windows if it is WIN98, but saved for installation)
3. Use the editor to edit the oracle. ini file.
4. Add the following item: local = aliasname (aliasname is the alias name just set)
5. Run the program again. Everything is OK.
Note: you do not need to enter the ALIAS name in SQL * PLUS.

2. Enter the Registry (Run regedit)
3. Create a New String Value in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-$ # @ 62; SOFTWARE-$ # @ 62; ORACLE. The value is as follows:
Local = aliasname (where aliasname is the alias name just set)
4. The new program is running. Everything is OK.
Note: you do not need to enter the ALIAS name in SQL * PLUS.

> ORACLE 8.0.5 for nt passed.
