A friend asked me a question about diskless server two days ago, saying that the BXP Client cannot communicate with the server's hard disk, and there is a red X on the virtual hard disk icon in the Client (Using XP.
I have never touched any diskless network before. I once heard a friend say that diskless network has many advantages, but it is a little troublesome. if you have helped your friends and learned the knowledge, isn't it a two-pronged task?
Since I only have one computer, I can only perform a diskless network experiment in the VM ware workstation.
The idea was to use Windows Server 2003 for server and Windows XP for Client. however, whether it is BXP3.11 or 3.3, it is always not installed correctly in 2003. since I don't want to install windows server 2000, I will use windows xp as the server. however, the Client cannot connect to the DHCP that comes with BXP. it seems that only server 2000 is installed. when server 2000 is used, DHCP is correct, but a problem occurs when the Client uses XP: The BXP Client cannot communicate with the server's hard disk. it's exactly what my friend said.
At that time, I thought it was my XP problem, so for convenience, I used server 2000 as the client. Finally, it was successful when server 2000 was used.
But why can't XP succeed? I re-installed XP and try again, but it still cannot solve the problem. Google and baidu have been running for more than N times, and then I accidentally found such a passage on the Internet.

The dhcp 060 option is not required. Do not be scared by 060. Adding or not does not matter.
DHCP does not contain 0 to 60 items by default, because Microsoft does not think it has any special significance.
If the 060 option is not added, you need to add the 067 option (which is available by default in DHCP) and specify the value:
Vldrmi13.bin
That's all.
As a result, we finally succeeded!
