The company took over a project. I had no experience with the AIX operating system, and I was able to handle this project by someone who installed 9iRAC a few years ago. Although I have been dealing with RAC over the past few years, I have not installed it yet. With some understanding of the RAC architecture, I promised this with confidence in purpose (no one else can make it ). However, I still have a hand. When purchasing Oracle, I also bought two days of on-site Oracle services, which is no longer necessary.
This installation has gone through:
Architecture selection, AIX Configuration Adjustment, CRS installation, network problems, storage problems, VIP automatic offline, CRS upgrade, etc. (I have encountered all the problems. It's so bitter)
The first question: what architecture is used to implement RAC? At that time, I purchased hacmp but not GFS. I also learned that they didn't use IBM's HACMP, but use Veritas's cluster software. Well, I have never heard of it. Fortunately, I found a very good document <cookbook Quick Installation Guide Oracle 10g RAC release 2 and Oracle automatic Strage Management (ASM) on IBM @ server System p and I Running AIX 5L>
The final choice is not to install HACMP, nor to buy GFS, but to useORACLE + CRS + ASM to implement this RAC.
AIX feels 5.3 should be stable, but since 6.1 was installed at the time of purchase, it would be 6.1. It is the same for me anyway :)
