   Macromedia Studio 8 Family members include a small software called Flashpaper 2 , which allows you to convert any printable document into a SWF or PDF document, which is easy to use. Flashpaper was previously bundled in contribute and is now integrated into Studio 8 as a whole. A new version of Flashpaper 2 was also bundled in a separate release of contribute 3, while Macromedia also released Flashpaper 2, which can run independently.

The last time we were in a graphic way with everyone to learn the detailed principles of Flashpaper 2 and the use of the method, this section we use the example to make a full experience of its practical applications.

  Flashpaper 2 Application Examples

  1. The basic process of converting documents with Flashpaper

  ① using print commands

Any document that can be printed can be converted to a flashpaper document. You can do this by using the print commands in the application that opens the document.

For example, to convert a Web page opened in Maxthon to a flashpaper document, you can select the menu command "file | print," as shown in Figure 9.

Then, select the printer "Macromedia Flashpaper" in the Print dialog box shown in Figure 10, and after you set other printing options, click the Print button.

If you are using a trial version, the dialog box shown in Figure 11 appears, with two radio buttons, which let us enter the serial number activation Flashpaper 2, and the following is a continuation of the trial. Select the radio button below and click the "Continue" button at the bottom right.

After the conversion is complete, the window shown in Figure 12 appears, and clicking Save as Macromedia Flash in the window saves the converted document as a Flash file, which is the SWF file, and can be saved as an Adobe PDF document by clicking Save as PDF.

The following SWF file is the result of the conversion. You can see that, because the Web page contains some Flash animation, so the converted document layout and the original page is some discrepancy.

It should be noted that the generated Falshpaper document is not editable. If you want to change the contents of the document, only the original document, and then convert again.

  ② using Drag -and-drop

It is convenient and quick to create a Flashpaper document using the method of dragging and dropping documents to the Flashpaper application window.

First double-click the Flashpaper icon on your desktop to start Flashpaper, and then drag and drop the document you want to convert into the Flashpaper window, as shown in Figure 2.

When you have finished converting, you also have to select the saved type, as described above (Figure 12).

  2. Convert Office documents to flash

Flashpaper installed, the corresponding conversion commands and buttons are installed in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, enabling a perfect combination of Office family software. With a toolbar button, users can easily create Flashpaper documents with just one click.

In Word, for example, first open a document to convert, as shown in Figure 13, and then select one of the three buttons in the toolbar to convert.

The functions of these three buttons are described below.

    • Convert present document to Flash: Convert the current documents to flash files
    • Convert present document to PDF: Converting current documents to PDF files
    • Convert present document to PDF and e-mail it: Convert current documents to PDF file and send mail

In addition to using buttons, you can also use menu commands, as shown in Figure 14.

In addition, if you right-click on a printable document, you can also find these three corresponding commands from the pop-up menu, as shown in Figure 15.

  3. Work in conjunction with Office applications

   flashpaper Seamless integration with Office applications makes it easy for users to create Flashpaper documents, and some elements in Office documents, such as hyperlinks, document outlines, alternate text, and so on, can be automatically converted. When you convert to a PDF document, you can also set security options for the document.

  ① Create hyperlinks

Hyperlinks are automatically retained when you convert Word, Excel, PowerPoint documents to flashpaper documents, so if you want to create hyperlinks for flashpaper, you actually need to create them in those original documents and then convert them. For example, in Word, select the contents of the hyperlink you want to create, select the menu command Insert | hyperlink (or press the shortcut key Ctrl+k), and then enter the link address in the Insert Hyperlink dialog box, as shown in Figure 16.

  ② Create a Document outline

When you convert a Word or PowerPoint document that contains outline content to a flashpaper document, you can choose to keep the document outline.

In Word, for example, you first need to create an outline for your document in Word, as detailed here . Then select menu command "flashpaper| Options ", open the" Conversion Options "dialog box shown in Figure 17, and select the Include Outline (including outline) option. Set Finish Click the OK button, and then click the Convert current document to Flash button > (or two other buttons) in the Word toolbar, enter the file name in the Save As Flash dialog box (Figure 18), and click Save button to start the conversion.

  ③ Create alternate text

When you convert Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents to flashpaper documents, alternate text that already exists in your document is automatically preserved.

In Word, for example, first create the alternate text for the picture. Alternate text, called alternative text in Word, right-click a picture in Word, then choose Format Picture from the menu, open the Format Picture dialog box, and then click the Web Site tab, and in the dialog box shown in Figure 19 we can see an explanation of the alternative text in Word. Type the text in the input box under alternative text, and then click OK.

Then use the menu command "Flashpaper" or the related buttons on the toolbar to convert the document to a Flashpaper document.

  ④ Convert Excel Print Area

For Excel documents, you can set up a print area and then convert only the content in the print area to the Flashpaper document. You can also set whether to convert the entire workbook or only the selected worksheets.

In Excel, first drag out an area with the mouse, then select the File | Print Area | Set Print area, as shown in Figure 20.

When you are finished, you can use the switch button on the command or toolbar to convert it.

If you want to print the entire workbook, you can select all the worksheets before you convert, by right-clicking on a worksheet tab, and then selecting the command "Select all Sheets" From the pop-up menu, as shown in Figure 21. You can also convert only one or a few worksheets, as long as you select them first.

  4. Work in conjunction with other Macromedia Applications

   using Flashpaper in Contribute

   Contribute is a Macromedia company launched a website maintenance software, the new version of the contribute 3 is one of Macromedia Studio 8 family members. Contribute provides an intuitive and easy-to-use interface, even if users who are unfamiliar with Web technology can update and upload Web pages at any time, using contribute can make them more efficient in maintaining web content.

In contribute, you can use the Insert menu to convert a document to a Flashpaper swf file, or you can drag a document into the draft window of contribute, and then insert the document as a flashpaper swf file. Embedding a flashpaper swf file in a Web page allows the viewer to view such files without having to have the original program that created the Flashpaper SWF file, or to leave the page to view them.

    • Create and insert Flashpaper SWF files using the Insert menu

In the Contribute draft window, place the insertion point where you want to insert the Flashpaper SWF file, and then select the menu command "insert| Document as Flashpaper (insert | As Flashpaper) as shown in Figure 24.

The Open dialog box, shown in Figure 25, pops up, selects the original document that you want to insert and converts, and clicks on.

The Flashpaper options (flashpaper Option) dialog box appears as shown in Figure 26.

In the dialog box, set the page orientation, page size, and whether to display the document outline for an Office document, and then click the OK button to begin the conversion, as shown in Figure 27.

The conversion is complete and the results are displayed in contribute, as shown in Figure 28.

    • Create and insert Flashpaper SWF files using drag-and-drop

Drag and drop an Office document from your desktop or other location in contribute where you want to insert the Flashpaper document, as shown in Figure 29.

Select Insert the document as Flashpaper (inserted as Flashpaper) and click the OK button. This will begin the conversion. When the conversion is complete, the resulting Flashpaper document appears at the insertion point in the contribute.

  ② use Flashpaper in Flash

We can insert a Flashpaper document into the FLA source file of Flash. When you export a FLA file to a SWF file, the Flashpaper swf file is embedded in the exported SWF file.

The following code shows how a normal flash FLA file uses a function to loadFlashPaper() load a flashpaper swf document.

The following code shows how to use a function after an Flashpaper SWF document has been embedded loadFlashPaper() .

Where the Fp.setcurrentpage value is set to the 50,fp.setcurrentzoom value is set to 33, and when the FLA file is exported, the embedded Flashpaper swf file appears in the exported SWF file with a magnification of 33%.

First enter the breeze meeting you provided, then click the Slides button at the bottom left of the Breeze application window to select the slide layout, and then click the Select Content button, and if the Select Content button is not visible, click Content The plus sign in the lower left corner of the pod.

Select from Content Library: Choose a flashpaper swf file from the Content Library.

Select from Room content: Select a flashpaper swf file from the Room content.
