ArcGIS 09 developer Summit

ESRI held 09 developer summit some time ago. Last year, I also participated in the Programming Competition. Although I didn't receive any awards, I saw a lot of things to broaden my horizons, it seems that there are not many new things this year. I am more interested in Silverlight mapcontrol. I have also seen it before and made some things based on it.

 

Overall, ESRI's product line is complete, and the SDK also includes the current mainstream technology platform ,. net/Java SDK, soap API, flex API, js api, and so on, ESRI is steadily and steadily running, effectively consolidating its leading position in the GIS field. In addition, ESRI makes the concept of snapshot up more and more deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, and the support for OGC/ISO is more and more determined. In today's world, only compatibility and support standards are the most important way to survive.

 

Compared with ESRI, the GIS Industry in China does not seem to have much exciting news. At the end of 08, some academicians of the Chinese Emy of Sciences claimed to be building Ge in China. It sounds very good, however, domestic laws and regulations on surveying and mapping and geographic information are not very promising.

 

GIS is intended for users and requires development and maintenance. Therefore, flexible development choices, sound technical support, and rich data options are required, it is very difficult to do well without any.
