ArcGIS Server Development Tutorial Series (2) Configuring the ArcMap and Arccatalog publishing services

1. Configuration of ARC catalog

Open Catalog and add the server you just created

1. Use GIS Services: User identity Connection

With this connection, you can browse and use all the services published within the site. However, you cannot edit server properties, publish services, edit service properties, or add, delete, start, stop, or pause services.

2. Pulish GIS Services: Publishing Identity connections

With this connection, you can publish a GIS service, or you can configure and publish a draft service, but you cannot edit any of the properties of the site.

3. Administrator GIS Services: Manager Identity Connection

With an administrative identity connection, you can edit server properties, such as the configuration store location, the cluster configuration, and the list of all participating machines in the site. You can also publish, add, delete, start, or stop services.

We generally choose the third item administer GIS server

Fill in the server URL: If the server and client together, preferably write IP address, and port number, select the type of service for ArcGIS server, set the user and password respectively when installing the server, users and password set themselves

Right-click on the new server and enter server properties to register the SDE database on the server

Note: If you need to manipulate feature features when publishing a service , you must register the corresponding SDE server here

Click the plus sign on the Data Store tab to add an SDE data connection.

Enter a name, click the Add button to add a database connection, below Select Same as is good

Enter database connection mode

Click OK after the catalog configuration is complete.

2. ArcMap Publishing Service

Open ArcMap, open the layer you want to publish,File-share As-serveice, publish the service

Or in the catalog, click on an mxd, right,share as Serveice

Select Publish Service, and the second release definition file is to save an . sd file that can be added in the Server Manager

Select Server and enter the service name, here is the test

Can be placed under root, you can create a new directory, create a new test directory here

In capabilities, tick feature access. If the previous database is not registered, here will be an error.

Click Analyze, analyze error-free, click Publish, wait for the release to succeed.

Description of the error type:
